COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Just as we at PHH are committed to serving our clients with all of the skill and dedication at our command, we are also passionate about serving our neighbors in need. In fact, the same traits that make for high customer satisfaction can also make our community a brighter place.

PHH is committed to being a good corporate citizen with strong employee volunteer programs, active involvement in the community, and significant corporate contributions. The following are some of PHH’s corporate-sponsored programs:

United Way
Annual employee fundraising drive and silent auction, and other corporate-sponsored events
Habitat for Humanity
House sponsorships and employee volunteers to reconstruct homes in Baltimore, Maryland
Big Brothers and Big Sisters
Annual fundraiser and Bowl-a-thon for Central Maryland chapter
Meals on Wheels
Year-round business-day delivery of hot and cold meals to elderly neighbors in Sparks, Maryland
Associated Black Charities of Baltimore
Corporate sponsor for the ABC Annual Fundraising Gala and contributor to ABC’s youth development programs in Baltimore
Leadership Baltimore County
Sponsorship of selected employees to participate in the Leadership Baltimore County program, which prepares talented people to take on leadership positions on the boards of community and regional non-profit organizations

GREAT NEIGHBORS
PHH also sponsors numerous food, clothing and school supply
drives. We have sponsored teams for various walk-a-thons, the
Komen Maryland Race for the Cure, Dragonboat Races for Catholic
Charities, golf outing fundraisers, and more. Each year during the
holiday season, we conduct a toy drive for underprivileged foster
children in the Baltimore area. In addition, employees volunteer to
organize and lead a holiday party for a group of foster children
through the Department of Social Services.

PHH received the "Good Neighbor Week" award in 2005 from
Baltimore County, Maryland’s Executive Committee. The award,
presented at a formal ceremony held at Towson University, honored
PHH for its “generous community spirit” and wide-ranging
volunteer programs.

In 2005, PHH employees stepped up to help our fellow Americans in
the wake of the hurricanes which tore through the Gulf Coast. In
addition to a $15,000 corporate donation to the American Red Cross,
employees donated over $12,000 to multiple relief charities, every
dollar of which was matched by the company. PHH employees also
responded by choosing to donate the $30,000 cost of our annual
holiday party to the American Red Cross.

Our team in PHH’s Canadian operations is also actively involved in
the Mississauga (Ontario) community. They sponsor an annual
auction for the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto; conduct food and
clothing drives for local women’s shelters and soup kitchens; support
Easter Seals with an annual fundraiser, and more. They also conduct
a United Way fundraiser every year.

HELPING OUR OWN
In addition, PHH takes care of our own. During Hurricane Isabel, which had a major impact on some PHH employees, we set up a fund to help those who lost their homes and belongings. We also have a Fire Fund that assisted employees in need after devastating house fires. Employees care about each other and help each other in many ways during times of personal trouble.

CARING FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
PHH employees are proud to know that their company is actively working to make a positive impact on the environment. Your ideas about how we can work towards a greener future can help shape the way our business affects the environment.

PHH cares about our world, and that caring is a large part of what makes our company a success in business. PHH was the first in the fleet management industry to develop a “green initiative” to help corporate clients reduce the environmental impact of their fleets.

We developed tools that help clients select “greener” vehicles for their fleets, consulted with clients to find new ways to reduce gas consumption and track the environmental performance of their fleets, and piloted new automotive technologies, such as hybrid vehicles.

This environmental initiative, that is so important to our employees in terms of our culture, has also proven to be a differentiator in the marketplace:

“PHH is concerned about the impact that burning fossil fuels has on our environment. For several years, we have been working with our clients to measure and reduce the environmental impact of their fleets. Our hope is to play a leadership role in developing industry-wide initiatives that will improve the environmental performance of all fleet vehicles.”
~ George J. Kilroy, President & CEO

In addition, our headquarters building in Sparks, Maryland, was built using materials that were environmentally friendly. PHH was also among the first in the Baltimore area to institute recycling programs among its workforce.
